Transfer Ambassador Program

This program provides you with an opportunity to meet one-on-one with a member of TSAB - someone who has gone through the transfer process. A Transfer Ambassador can tailor the meeting to your questions or needs. You can choose to take a campus tour (an offering especially helpful for prospective students), meet to talk, or just email a question or two.

Sam Ruedinger

I am a sophomore in my second semester here at the University,
having transferred last spring from Beloit College, a tiny liberal
arts school in extreme southern Wisconsin. I am a likely comm studies
major and am involved in several clubs and organizations on campus.

Janessa Eisenbraun

After doing my first year of school at Macalester College in St. Paul,
I decided to transfer to the U of M beginning Fall 2007. Now a Junior
pursuing a degree in Psychology with a double minor in Retail Merchandising
and Communication Studies, I am convinced this transfer was the the best
thing I could have ever done.  Coming for a small private college, the U
took a lot of adjusting, but I learned so much in the process! I now work
for the university as a Peer Adviser in one of the CLA student communities.
This job has allowed me to learn even more about how the U works and what
resources are available to me and others as I help them through their journey.
Something I wish I had paid more heed to as a new student was to become
involved right away--especially if you are commuting. It is important to
develop your niche here in the university community and form bonds with peers.
The U offers so many activities and things to do, it's impossible not to find
something you'll enjoy! Some things I'm excited to utilize are: free food and
crafts at Gophers After Dark, movies in the Coffman movie theater, cheap
music performances at The Whole, organizations and clubs like TSAB, and
exploring the city and the bus systems.
